Editor’s Notes: In a sea of Nike Dunks, a Polaroid collaboration has surfaced.

There's no denying that the silhouette has been front and center for the Swoosh lately, with plenty of colorways and releases on the radar, and together with Polaroid, the shoe has gotten a fresh colorway that is inspired by the camera brand's aesthetics.

For the campaign, Nike has tapped photographer Sarah Muerle as well as Nike SB skateboarder Brian Anderson, who's the first openly gay skateboarder and Nike SB teammate, to wear the shoe, and reflect over their own identities and how they play a role within skateboarding.

“I aim to capture the skate community through photography, to widen that perspective, and show it through my eyes,” Sarah Muerle said.

Therefore, the two took to the streets of Barcelona to capture the shoe, as they skateboarded through the city, and captured the day with, you guessed it – a Polaroid camera.

The shoe itself keeps Nike's signature design, but experiments with Polaroid's heritage. Using three colors to create contrast, red, blue, and yellow, atop a black upper with a white sole, feels carefully thought through.

“Collaborating with the Nike SB design team has been a dream come true. We built on each other’s experience and creativity to develop this iconic product connecting both of our brands’ heritage. The core idea behind the design is really about light interaction,” Ignacio Germade, Polaroid Chief Design Officer, said.

The collaboration will be available starting on April 5, through the SNKRS app as well as at select skate shops. And the good news is that they come in a wide size run, starting at a men's US 4, all the way through a US 15.
