Double Tap to Zoom

We've seen all sorts of items alleged to be used by the rich and famous go up for sale in the past. Tom Brady's sand. Scarlett Johansson's used tissue. Joan Rivers' dog bowl.

Now, someone is selling what they're claiming is a chewed piece of gum from the mouth of Robert Downey Jr. Maybe the world isn't healing after all.

According to an eBay listing, the gum hails from Jon Favreau's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the ceremony in February, Downey stuck his chewed gum on the star, jokingly stating, "Just to make it official."

Apparently, the seller scooped the gum from the star and listed it on eBay for an outrageous C 55,000 (roughly $40,147.47). Condition? Used.

In the description, the seller claims the gum is in the same state (so chewed, hard, and stomped on?) he found it in and "can be tested for [Downey's] DNA." Um, gross.

Currently, there are no bids for Downey's reported wad of gum (thank God). Though this restores my faith in the world (for now), please let this be the end of selling weird, personal celeb memorabilia — and leave our Iron Man alone. I beg.
