Editor’s Notes: "That's that thique," Beyoncé sang on her Grammy-nominated Renaissance album. Though the musician talked about her shapely physique, the same can be said about the latest sneakers and their hefty soles.

Platform sneakers are having quite the moment, with some thanks to Converse and its thick-soled Run Star Hikes. Now, Converse advances its reign by tapping fashion label ROKH for a stacked Chuck Taylor collaboration.

For a quick refresher, ROKH is the London-based fashion brand led by Rok Hwang, who earned the LVMH Special Prize in 2018 and, thus, became the first South Korean designer to nab the LMVH Prize's finalist title.

Having appeared on the bods of Issa Rae, Lady Gaga, and Sydney Sweeney, ROKH has been long praised for reworking wardrobe staples and giving them a new, elevated meaning – "artisanal imperfection," as the brand likes to call it.

Think sexy cutouts on a structured blazer, a host buttons decorating a single garment, trench coats with detachable components, and mountain ropes on ASICS sneakers.

ROKH's Converse Chuck Taylor collab merely expands on its experimental design language, with the classic Converse model receiving a double dose of sole action.

The ROKH x Converse Chuck Taylor boasts a stacked bottom complete with two All-Star heel tags to emphasize the dual sole behavior.

Plus, ROKH's Chuck Taylor is actually a collaboration with Converse Addict, Converse's premium Japanese line that worked with mastermind JAPAN, and most recently, UNDERCOVER and WTAPS.

In other words, expect Addict's top-of-the-line construction and durable Vibram sole to follow suit with ROKH's platform Chucks.

As platform kicks continue to make thick — or as Bey would say, "thique" — strides in the sneaker sphere, ROKH's Chuck Taylors arrive just in time.
