Royal Canadian Mint
1 / 3

The Royal Canadian Mint has teamed up with Crossworks Manufacturing and Forevermark diamonds to create the first-ever diamond-shaped coin.

Made from three ounces of 99.99 percent pure silver, the coin is decorated with a 0.20-carat square-cut diamond, which was one of the last to come from Northern Ontario's Victor Mine before its closing in 2019. The diamond coin also boasts a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

The Canadian coin took more than a year to make from striking to shipping, as each step underwent intense testing to ensure the utmost quality. Packaged with a mirror at the bottom to reflect light onto the angled diamond cuts that are engraved on the coin, the collector's item comes with a Royal Canadian Mint certificate of authenticity, as it is limited to 700 units.

While the face value of the diamond-shaped coin is $50, it retails for approximately $1,123. You can learn more here.
