When it comes to dressing for summer social events that require a little more effort, the country club and its ensuing outfits can be a good source of inspiration. Warm weather-ready but with one foot always in the formal, style at the country club is a blend of sophistication and comfort.

However, avoiding a fall into the outdated trap of shoulder-wrapped sweaters and no-socks-and-loafers looks, we've put together three outfits that'll have you dressed appropriately for both turning heads and turning these trite suburban styles on their heads. This is country club-dressing for the modern age.

Available from luxury destination Luisaviaroma, these three looks come courtesy of a range of go-to summer outfitters, including Casablanca, Gucci, and Loewe, and comprise everything from outerwear and accessories to shorts and sandals.

Check our smart summer outfit suggestions below.

Ultra-Wide Shorts and Sandals

The men's shorts landscape has thankfully changed a lot in recent years, and thank god because we now get pieces like this wide-leg, big belt-featuring pair by Piet. For a statement shirt, this one by Indonesian brand Elhaus is relatively affordable and also made from biodegradable lyocell. Finally, at the feet, are one of this season's hottest footwear types — the gladiator sandal. This pair is by Italian label Brador.

Loewe and a Loud Casablanca Jacket

If you want your summer look to be standout, then a special pair of sunglasses is an absolute must. The shades from Loewe's Paula's Ibiza capsule are one of this season's very best, and they, therefore, top our first outfit. Not to be outdone on the outerwear, Casablanca's wild graphic print pieces are perfect for keeping things bright even when the day no longer is. You don't want to overdo it everywhere though, so a clean pair of white shorts will match up nicely.

Sophisticated Bucket and Silk

Keeping things suitably loud in our second fit, Etro's silk shirt print is equal parts nautical, equal parts ties-caught-in-a-fan, but it works. Our headwear choice comes courtesy of Gucci, which serves up a classy cotton canvas bucket hat, finished off with an understated GG emblem. Chino's are a smart summer staple that'll always fit, and here's a trusty pair by Levi's.
