In the wake of George Floyd's murder by police and the resulting outrage, T.I. is urging people to join in one day of solidarity called #BlackoutDay2020."

The rapper, who has always been very vocal about the issues that plague the black community, took to Instagram yesterday to call his 12.4 million followers to participate in "#BlackoutDay2020." The call to action names July 7, 2020 "Blackout Day" and urges people of color to withhold their money as an economic protest.

"We need one day of solidarity in America when not one black person in America spends a dollar," the message reads. "This includes Africans, Native Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics...ALL people of color. Together we have 3.9 trillion dollars in economic spending power. That's $10,684,931,506.80 it's going to cost per day next time a person of color gets shot!"

The hashtag "BlackoutDay2020" has gained traction on social media. Boycotting alongside T.I. is fellow rapper Juicy J, who also shared the call to action on Twitter.
