Turns Out, adidas Has Been Looking to the Stars For Guidance. Literally
Built on the DNA of ’70s running shoes, the adidas Tokyo is among the slimmest silhouettes on the market right now. But you already knew that.
Having made quite the impression when they were first brought back to life, this time unsurprisingly not targeted at marathon runners (for obvious reasons), now the ultra slim sneaker is officially seeing stars.
It arrives complete with the signature thin rubber soles, which not only maintain the model’s flat proportions but also complement the neutral color palette quite perfectly.
Scarlet leather floods the upper, while royal blue Three Stripes and crisp heel detailing break up the heat. Underneath, a thin off-white outsole keeps the silhouette looking sleek and low to the ground. No, really. It couldn't be much lower.
The real star of the show though, is undoubtedly its constellation of blue outlined stars covering the entire body of the sneaker. Surprisingly subtle, but captivating enough to make an impression.
The adidas Tokyo model is just one of the many sneakers featured in adidas' City Series, a collection of slim and simple shoes inspired by various cities across the globe. And with updates like this, consider us checked in.
