Leave it to Y-3 to strip down an already minimalist sneaker to luxury basics.

The collaborative imprint between Yohji Yamamoto and adidas has created an even more refined version of the Stan Smith Lo Pro, which is basically the flattest, slimmest Stan Smith sneakers ever.

Y-3 naturally keeps the thinned-out soles but adds high-quality suede to the uppers and interiors for an even classier and plusher look.

The newest Stan Smiths also feature elastic collars, which ultimately transform the sneaker into a high-end slip-on. This sort of collapsible design has appeared on other trendy flat shoes, including Vans' Super Lowpro Collapse and Prada's own Collapse sneaker.

Just when you thought sneakers couldn't get any flatter, brands found another way to take things even lower to the ground.

Y-3 certainly managed to do so, literally paring down an already simple yet premium sneaker to a pure "quiet luxury" slipper of sorts. What's more, its effort comes in the classic all-black.

In case any members of the flat-shoe squad are wondering, Y-3's Stan Smith Low Pro sneaker is now available on adidas' website for $300.
