Anyone who has ever been frustrated by YouTube’s geographical blocks and age restrictions will want to try out this pro tip posted to Reddit right away. According to user Chloe_Jayne, replacing “youtube.com” with “hooktube.com” bypasses any location and age blocks YouTube videos might have.

In addition to unblocking videos you wouldn’t normally be allowed to watch, the YouTube hack allows users to share videos without giving them views and helps keep your data private.

Comments on the thread were quick to point out that people using this workaround do so at their own risk. One Reddit user commented saying “you should know that takes you to a different website that may not have all the protections from malware that one takes for granted when on YouTube.”

Another user pointed out that hooktube does not work in China.
