Double Tap to Zoom

Nike has set up the Air Trainer Huarache to have a promising comeback era. It started with a hot and hairy collaboration with the people's favorite streetwear brand, Corteiz. Nike's since shifted focus to the Huarache's general release lineup, which is stacking up with some admittedly nice colorways.

Next, Nike's Air Trainer Huarache goes stealth. The sportswear label gives the 1990s cross-training shoe the classic "Triple Black" treatment, producing a super clean all-black version of the Huaraches.

Really, it's like the Corteiz collaboration, just minus the pony hair, camo details, and, well, Corteiz.

Although dripped out in a super quiet look, the Air Trainer Huarache's most classic details are still clear as day. The sneaker again offers up several pleasing textures like crisp leather, super smooth nubuck, and breezy moments.

And the Huaraches still look as outdoor-worthy as they did in the 90s. The shoe preserves its unmistakable velcro strap across the foot and the cushy inner sock bootie. At the same time, the heel pull tab and overall rugged charm only add to its "trail-shoe-ness."

The Nike Air Trainer Huarache really answered into its outdoorsy calling with its "Baroque Brown" version, which looked straight from an ACG catalog with its earthy coloring and traditional hiking-like styling.

Now, after surfacing on the sneaker 'net about a month ago, both the "Triple Black" and "Baroque Brown" Huaraches are finally here. Both colorways are officially up for grabs at several stores, including Slam Jam and END.

But that ain't it for the Air Trainer Huarache. Just know that it's about to be an ice-cold spring for the Huarache hive (in a good way).
