Japanese designer Yota Kakuda has created a super-stylish beer keg for brewer Kirin's delivery service that takes home drinking to a new level of sophistication.

Dubbed the Home Tap, the award-winning design is based on a "tank-to-glass" concept, which stems from wanting to preserve straight-from-the-brewery quality. Once you're signed up to Kirin's subscription service, a refrigerated vehicle will drop off 1-liter bottles of freshly made beer to your home twice a month.

Kakuda's creation, a plastic container built in a white, cylindrical shape, boasts a unique coating that prevents oxygen from permeating the beer and ruining it.

The Home Tap has been so popular that Kirin had to halt subscriptions, which cost ¥6,900 (approximately $63) per month, as the company couldn't keep up with orders. According to Designboom, 15,000 have signed up for notification once the service is resumed.
