After their revived Barons ventured onto the dark side, Nike's next Retro Air Jordan 12 – the 'Phantom' – sees the adored vintage sneaker step back into the light.

For now a Women's exclusive, the AJ12 Phantom's creamy off-white hues and golden details lend it a delicate, ethereal elegance we're not necessarily used to from basketball shoes.

As some commenters have pointed out, the AJ12 Phantom's bear a certain resemblance to 2016's OVO collaboration. Which is to say that if you missed out on the latter close to a decade a go, maybe this is your chance to jump(man) on a brighter, softer colorway for once.

This launch feels in-tandem with a brand-wide, model-spanning push for simpler, more premium footwear, most recently exhibited in the quiet-luxurification of the Cortez.

Though a bit late for – as well as not what's generally meant by – Spooky Season, if Nike's AJ12 'Phantom' is any indication, we'll say to keep the hauntingly cool leather kicks coming.
