Whereas rumors that Jordan Brand could be planning to bring back the “Carmine” Nike Air Jordan 6 next year have been around since early this year, @soleheatonfeet has now given us a tentative release date. According to the leak account, the sneaker will be released in January 2021.

Next year will be the 30th anniversary of the Nike Air Jordan 6, as well as Michael Jordan’s first of six NBA championship rings. It would make sense that Jordan Brand has several special-edition releases of the silhouette planned to celebrate the occasion.

This would line up with what the brand did to celebrate the Air Jordan 3 and 4 in 2018 and 2019 respectively, as well as what was expected to happen this year for the Air Jordan 5. Special collaborations, as well as fan-favorite retro colorways have been brought back for all three silhouettes, so it shouldn’t be any different for the Air Jordan 6 next year.

The “Carmine” Nike Air Jordan 6 was last retroed in 2014 and was first released in 1991. It was retroed for the first time in 2008 as part of the Countdown Pack.

Stay tuned for updates as they arise.
