Dressed in Denim & Corduroy, Nike Dunks Dream of Being Pants
It seems that the ubiquitous Nike Dunk Low is having something of a personality crisis. Instead of being built with its usual leather fabrication, it's choosing to get dressed up in two of the most popular fabrics for pants — denim and corduroy.
Clearly, the old-school basketball sneaker is taking inspiration from classic legwear. But I'm not complaining, these unconventional fabric choices make for gloriously textured finishes.
First, there is a "Blue Denim" iteration of the shoe, featuring a baby blue on navy blue denim upper, contrasting nicely with a crisp white midsole. The Dunk Low also includes cut-out Swooshes on each side of the sneaker.
Is this my favorite Dunk Low? No. But I expect to see this sneaker paired with heavy Japanese denim jeans and a Visvim jacket somewhere on FashionTok next year, and I’m not mad at that.
If denim on denim is not your speed, Nike is also expected to drop a similar “Blue Corduroy” iteration of the Low next year.
The sneaker will feature a baby blue and white leather upper with a silver Nike swoosh, which somehow makes it feel more Y2k than its denim counterpart.
Both Dunk Lows will be available via Nike in the first half of 2025 and are expected to retail for $125.
