New York-based artist Sam Friedman presents his debut solo show in Hong Kong, "Flesh of the Gods," on display at Over The Influence. The exhibition is currently open to the public Tuesday to Saturday through October 27.

Friedman's artwork tends to draw on personal memories, as he explores the tension between recognizable imagery and his emotional and spiritual experience of the natural world. Such candy-colored abstractions offer unique glimpses of the everyday through an abstract lens, breaking down and rebuilding natural surroundings.

All of Friedman's work is painted by freehand using simple elements of line, color, and form. Upon getting a closer look at the paintings you will notice gradient lines and colors replicating the sky during sunset, tropical sunshine, and floral patterns.
