New Balance’s Luxe Dad Shoe Is a Half-Tweed, Half-Leather Masterpiece
And just like that, tweed dad shoes are back on the New Balance menu. Everyone say "thank you, New Balance."
Even better, the latest 991v1 Made in UK sneakers feature brown tweed underlays and black leather overlays. So, we're actually getting this half-fuzzy, half-slick dad shoe that's all very luxe.
And it comes straight from the brand's England factory, so expect high-quality leather and tweed, plus other top-notch touches.
Perhaps the biggest question is: are these Harris Tweed 991s, though?
It wouldn't be the first 991 to get wrapped in the famous Scottish wool. New Balance has released a few efforts over the last couple of years.
However, the latest pairs are a little bit of a mystery. The imagery doesn't show any immediate callouts or stitched Harris Tweed labels. However, New Balance has designed a matching Allerdale sneaker, which features the same look but with actual Harris Tweed.
To be honest, they look good either way.
While we wait for the hard confirmation, New Balance's 991v1 Made in UK "Tweed Luxe Leather" sneaker is scheduled to drop on Solebox's website on October 31 for 226,88 €, or around $254.
